2. THE HERALDRY OF HUNGER

The Heraldry of Hunger is a protest banner inspired by the work of Corbin Shaw. Using the image of Tesco Value Baked Beans, I am able to tap into the experiences of those experiencing food insecurity and call for the need for easy access to healthy food for all. The outer edge is adorned by text: ‘What we would have for tea is some toast, maybe some coffee, whereas before we would have a meal,’ adding a first hand account for context to the narrative of food barriers the flag creates.
