1. MARGARET KILLED FEMINIST NOISE

This outcome is a double sided quilt exploring Margaret Thatcher’s impact on feminism, and in turn feminism’s impact on music. By focusing my work on one case study of feminist music, I aim to encourage a wider consideration of music and politics as a whole. By using textiles, I am able to connect my work to the medium’s long feminist history. It worked well as the antithesis of what Margaret Thatcher stood for.

To provide a deeper level of contexts, I created a 7 by 7 inch zine to sit a pocket on the front of the quilt, allowing the audience to learn about the research behind the work.
